Successful Social Evening

Bact held a very successful social evening at the end of February as a thank you to all the volunteers for their hard work and dedication. Long service awards were given out at the event to volunteers that have given over 20 years service.

We have had lots of great feedback to say how enjoyable the evening was and many comments about the sumptuous buffet!

Volunteers’ view

I enjoy helping people, and driving. Volunteering for Bact enables me to do both. PK Oct 2020

I joined bact as a volunteer driver as I became aware of the mobility issues faced by my in-laws and parents as they aged. Meeting older people I began to appreciate their life experiences which were invariably tougher than mine. I have also met many younger people who have various mobility issues and have always been impressed by their positivity which I hope has also been shown in my bact duties. In summary, it has been a very rewarding experience.

Mrs K and her husband were take to the hospital yesterday by Barry. She telephone in to pass on her thanks and gratitude and said Barry was very kind and polite and had the patience of a saint for the length of time he had to wait for them!
