We have six minibuses which are run under a Section 19 permit.  The minibuses are for use by local non-for-profit organisations and groups.  All of our mini-buses have tail lifts for wheelchair access and for anyone who has difficulty using steps.

Member organisations using the bus pay an annual membership of £18.  Costs are based on mileage, with a minimum charge of £42 and £1.60 per mile thereafter.

All of our minibus drivers are volunteers and are MIDAS trained.  Seat belts are installed on all seats and passengers are required to wear them unless they have an exemption certificate.  Clamping and belt facilities are provided for wheelchair users.

The buses vary in seating capacity between 11-16 passengers & 1-2 wheelchairs. When a wheelchair space is required some passenger seats will need to be removed to allow sufficient space for the wheelchair/s. Please telephone us 01986 896896 for more information and approximate costs.

Only MIDAS certified drivers may drive the vehicle, operate the tail lift and secure wheelchairs.  The bus must be returned in a clean and tidy condition, and any faults reported by the driver to the Manager at BACT. BACT cannot be held responsible for loss of, or damage to, any items left in the bus during or at the end of the period of use.   The bus must not be overloaded or used for the transport of goods.  All bookings are taken subject to the availability of a volunteer driver, which can be provided by the local organisation, provided that they have been MIDAS trained.
