June 2020 – 100 ClubJune 30th, 2020 | Category: Uncategorized Volunteers’ viewI feel rewarded every day I go out driving people in my car – Mick I joined Bact as a volunteer driver as I became aware of the mobility issues both my in-laws and parents faced as they aged. Meeting older people I began to appreciate their life experiences, which were invariably tougher than mine. I have also met many younger people who have various mobility issues and have always been impressed by their positive outlook on life, which I hope has been shown in my Bact duties. In summary, it has been a very rewarding experience. Peter Fantastic time on the trip to Aldeburgh and Thropeness. We all sat on the sea wall eating ice-creams. Then added in a stop at a Farm Shop on the way home. Lots of laughs today. Peter Volunteer driver on DAR Special I am writing to say how thankful we all are for the wonderful care and attention shown by your driver Phil. The day could have so easily fallen flat due to the flood barriers being in situ on arrival (because of high tides) which prevented access to our beach hut. However, with Phil’s help and assistance the residents enjoyed a lovely visit to the pier. Holmwood Care Ltd Jim has been a volunteer driver for BACT for over 16 years and driven a lot of miles on our behalf during that time. Jim says he loves driving and meeting people and people are always so appreciative. He says it gives you “That feel good factor!”

And we particularly want to thank you for the wheelchair accessible vehicle you provided on 17 August to transport my mother from her bungalow to the White House residential home in Beccles. I don’t know what we would have done without you and your driver. John is now home and hopefully on the road to recovery”. Mrs K and her husband were take to the hospital yesterday by Barry. She telephone in to pass on her thanks and gratitude and said Barry was very kind and polite and had the patience of a saint for the length of time he had to wait for them! I would like to thank the drivers who were very helpful & friendly which made my trips more enjoyable. Your charity provides a very good prompt service. Thank you Betty Mrs T: Mick went above & beyond his duties. I have limited vision and I felt safe with him. He helped me to my Appointment, back to the car and to my front door. He was excellent.
