BACT runs several different services:
Cars
The car service operates seven days a week and is provided by volunteer drivers using their own vehicles. Anyone may ask to use the service to make journeys for which neither a family car, nor public transport, is available.
Wheelchair accessible vehicle
A practical wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) provides door-to-door transport for those without the use of a car and unable to use public transport. The vehicle seats up to five passengers, or three plus a wheelchair.
Minibus
We have a 16 seater minibus, purchased in 2005, which is run under a Section 19 permit. The bus has a tail lift for wheelchair access and for anyone who has difficulty with stairs. The bus is for hire to member organisations.
Dial-a-ride
The dial-a-ride service provides a regular minibus service to local shopping centres and to places of interest. Special journeys are also arranged to theatres, garden centres and similar attractions.
